Amazon introduces beta version of Kindle for the Web
Amazon.com introduced the beta version of "Kindle for the Web." The new beta version is bound to make it easier for customers to discover new books and authors by sampling Amazon Kindle books directly through web browsers with no need for installation or required downloading.
"With Kindle for the Web, it's easier than ever for customers to sample Kindle books - there's no downloading or installation required," said Amazon Kindle Director Dorothy Nicholls.
"Kindle for the Web is also a great way for bloggers and authors to promote books on their websites by letting visitors read a chapter without leaving their site."
Amazon allows participants in the Amazon Associates Program to embed samples of Amazon Kindle books on their websites or blogs. Customers can simply click the "Read first chapter FREE" button on a book product page either on Amazon or on other websites. The first chapter will open within the web page.
"Kindle for the Webb" allows customers to change the font size and line spacing as well as adjust the background color. Customers can also share their favorite books with friends and family via Facebook, Twitter, and e-mail without leaving the book in the browser.
Amazon Kindle customers can also complete book purchases using the links on websites participating in Amazon Associates Programs. More information about Kindle for the Web is available at www.amazon.com/kindlefortheweb.
