The American Idol Live Tour will surely not be missed by this season's winner, Phillip Phillips. It will kick off on July 6 in Detroit, according to one of the tour representatives.

Despite the news that he has to undergo therapy due to one of his kidneys breaking down, the 21-year-old singer from Georgia assures all of his fans that he will be perfectly fine to join the rest of the American Idol season 11 finalists for the tour.

During his 'American Idol' press con in New York, he decided to do it as a remote experience instead. To go through the knife is still an option he and his family is considering alternative treatments can be made possible too to help him recover from the ailment.

The good news above all is that Phillips' doctors have already given him a go signal to rock out on stage again by next month.

According to an insider who is close to the family, Phillips is being treated well but the family wants to keep all the details regarding his ailment private. The 'American Idol' tour rep assures everyone that the winner will be on board for the tour up until their final show by September 11 in Milwaukee.
