‘America’s Got Talent’ 2016: Watch how contestants prepare for semifinals
As “America’s Got Talent” season 11 semifinals is fast approaching, hopefuls are starting to get busy polishing their acts to make it through the competition. But with the limited time left before the competition resumes, how do they manage their newfound fame alongside their daily routine?
There are 14 acts advancing to the AGT semifinals and seven more will be added to the list after the Aug. 23 live show. Here’s an overview on how some AGT semifinalists prepare or what they do before the NBC’s top-rated talent show resumes:
1. Jon Dorenbos
In between practice or games, the Philadelphia Eagles long snapper finds time to work on his card tricks. Fellow NFL player Chris Maragos caught the 35-year-old magician practicing and posted a video on Twitter.
2. Tape Face
It’s business as usual for Kiwi mime Sam Wills as he tours around the UK to perform for various shows. Regardless of the outcome of the AGT competition, “The Boy with Tape on His Face” is set to perform for various shows scheduled until October.
3. Steven Brundage
While "working on brand new magic," Rubic’s cube genius hangs out with fellow magician and AGT season 9 winner Mat Franco.
On Instagram, Brundage posted a photo of him with fellow AGT semifinalists Victor Kee and Sofie Dossi and wrote, “I miss that stage! So excited to start preparing to head back to the Dolby theatre. Working on some brand new magic.”
4. Kadie Lynn
The 12-year-old country singer is staging an Aug. 19 free concert in Gun Barrel City Pavilion to thank her supporters and fans from Texas. She’s set to perform with local country musicians Blake Payne and Amanda Pruit.
5. The Clairvoyants
Thommy and Amelie are also busy impressing their fans with their magic, including one of their idols, Neil Patrick Harris, who went and saw one of their recent shows.
6. Jayna Brown
While the golden Buzzer recipient records and edits her first music video on YouTube, her mother Tetia, launched a crowdfunding project via GoFundMe to raise money to send Jayna to Duke Ellington School of Arts in Washington, DC. According to Tetia, Jayna will be taking Vocal Music curriculum. The Browns are targeting to raise US$14,000 (AU$18,300) but only US$645 (AU$842) has been pledged so far.
NBC will resume airing “America’s Got Talent” live from the Dolby Theater in Hollywood on Tuesday, Aug, 23. AGT airs Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the US and every Saturday in Australia on FOX8.
In the meantime, online audition for "America's Got Talent" season 12 has already commenced.
