Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean for Verizon Galaxy Nexus Rolls Out for Beta Testers
Verizon's update for Galaxy Nexus Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean rolls out for beta testers and its official release will be coming very soon. As the beta testing is going, xda developers have made several AOSP ROM for owners of the device to obtain Android 4.2.2 sooner.
One of the fit ROMs for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus is the MMuzzyROM for Toro with build JDQ39. According to the original thread, the ROM is closely related to builds Toroplus, Mako, Manta, Maguro, and Grouper.
Features included to ROM are:
- Root access and Superuser applications
- Disabled Scroll cache
- Quick Settings Mod
- Enhanced Power menu
- Screenshot on Power menu
- Expanded Desktop
- T9 dialling
- Clear all apps button in recent apps list
- Volume fix
- Native tethering
- Verizon Sign apps
- Play store app auto restore
- Fixed pull-down carrier text
- GPS Lock Tweak
- Emergency Broadcast Settings Menu
There are three versions of MMuzzy ROMs depending on what the user wants to be flashed.
1. French Vanilla: a slightly modded version than Vanilla
2. Vanilla: no MODs, pure AOSP version with fixes included
3. Chocolate Milk: a JOP40D version which won't be updated anymore
Prerequisites:
1. Make a backup of all personal information and data files of the device.
2. Select and download a ROM from the above list.
3. Download the Google Apps as well.
Warning: The flash will erase everything inside the device and it is at your own risk to perform the ROM installation. The warranty is definitely void, if there is any.
