Android 4.4 KitKat is not going to feature major revamp of the ecosystem but instead, designed to polish the bugs, errors, interface, functions and applications of Android Jelly Bean and previous versions. Here are the top ten sweet changes that should be polished on Android OS.

KitKat with Jelly Bean on Top

It is expected that Google will not let go of several amazing features included in Jelly Bean OS and be carried over on Android 4.4 KitKat. Google Now, Project Butter, Quick Settings, Actionable Notifications, Lock screen Widgets, Daydream, Bluetooth Smart, OpenGL ES 3.0 and Virtual Surround Sound are just few important and helpful features Android KitKat should bring to most Android running devices.

Languages and Accessibility

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean featured additional language such as Afrikaans, Hindi and Zulu which supports the home screen, settings, phone and more applications. Accessibility features should also get some improvements for such as better TalkBack support, more responsive to touch and better Gesture mode. As Android runs smartphones, reliability and stability is vital for the being "smart" OS.

Signal Improvement

While network signal is not 100 per cent perfect, Android running devices should get better signal support and less interruption while moving. Data connection in many cities is having troublesome transfer speed while moving and hopefully KitKat can make changes to help the system perform smoothly.

User Interface

Screen orientation transition and animations are some things what makes smartphone beautiful which is why Android 4.4 KitKat must be very intuitive whenever you are shifting from portrait to landscape and vice versa. Another element in transition is animation and the smoother animations are, the more people will be amazed and join Android OS.

Security Aspect

Due to the open-source and free download of Android OS; it is gravely swarmed by malware and fake apps in the Play Store. Google must enforce more security especially with new applications being developed and posted at the Play Store. Apple's iOS closed-system benefitted in tight security measures, ensuring owners are not going to expect malware every day.

Bug Free Update

Hopefully when Google pushes out Android 4.4 KitKat, no major error or bug may happen on several devices which apparently happened recently on iOS 7. It is normal to have certain bugs but having data file corruption, security breaches and others are considered very bad for any operating system.

Android Freedom Flag

Google promised that Android 4.4 KitKat is going to be available for everyone to enjoy but no one knows yet how the company will be able to do this with fragmentation issues. Segmentation of features can be a solution yet it is not guaranteed among devices running Android 2.3 Gingerbread or 2.2 Froyo. Can Galaxy Ace or Mini first-generation get Project Butter via KitKat?

Lightweight on the RAM

Most phones and tablets with 512RAM can run Android 4.0 or Android 4.1 version but older devices with less than 512RAM may not get updates anymore. Early reports indicated that Android 4.4 is lighter than any Android version there was, and expected to be easy on the memory. Since RAM isn't upgradable in smartphones or tablets, can my 128MB RAM device run Android 4.4?

Battery Optimisation

If Google is really going with segmented firmware download, a separate battery optimisation feature should at least be available for all devices running every Android version. Battery life is important and Google shouldn't forget to help out devices running Android 2.2, 2.3 and 3.0 with better battery standby time.

Stable Services

Android OS utilises Google services such as Play Store, Google+, Hangouts (rumoured as new messaging app), Gmail, YouTube and more, Android 4.4 KitKat may grant blessing to wider range of branded or local Android devices to get the latest features. Will Hangouts support 2.2 or 2.3 versions?

Android 4.4 KitKat is the next-generation of Android OS and intended to minimise the fragmentation of the system by integrating all devices in one place for better support, improved performance and unified ecosystem.
