Google is really busy updating most of their services lately and it includes 17 of their apps which now feature changes for better user experience. Is this the segmentation of the firmware to bring Android 4.4 KitKat on older devices?

Recently, Google+ and Hangouts received new updates to include new functionality on images and messaging. Google+ received the "Auto Awesome" feature that allows editing of photos in the app and creation of personal GIFs or Graphic Interchange Format.

Hangouts app on the other hand is set to become an optional SMS/MMS messaging client in addition to the default messaging app. Hangouts now include sharing of location to your friends using a single button, sharing of animated images or GIFs through messages and enhancements on the video call function.

Google+ and Hangouts apps are just two among seventeen services of Google currently receiving constant improvements and updates. Reddit user JLishere revealed the 17 Google apps which received recent updates that may be in-line of Android 4.4 KitKat grand appearance.

These apps have been updated on October 30, 2013 at 4:25PM EDT according to the Reddit user but few of them such as Drive, Chrome, Play services and Keep got heavy upgrades lately. However, these app upgrades didn't pinpoint Android 4.4 KitKat directly which could have been maintenance or development for improved user experience.

No direct information has been revealed on how Android 4.4 KitKat will support older devices since Google can't update brand exclusive devices without integration of customised UI such as Samsung Galaxy line or Sony Xperia smartphones.

But the company can make a way to impart features or exclusive functionality without requiring owners to get an update from the manufacturer by relaying it via Play Store. Android 4.4 KitKat leaked UI didn't exactly feature any huge changes or overall redesign and focuses more on speeding and stabilising the performance and ecosystem.

Google's update among its services doesn't mean KitKat is already available but we may see these updates in full function once Android 4.4 has been released. Owners of older devices may share latest features from Android 4.4 through apps without their knowledge.
