Pantech Mobile announced an upcoming Android 4.4 KitKat update to the Vega Iron smartphone. This would be the first handset which will get the new OS version soon after the Nexus. Meanwhile, other brands such as HTC and Samsung remains silent on when will they have their devices be upgraded to KitKat.

Vega Iron on Android 4.4 KitKat

Pantech Vega Iron is the first confirmed smartphone to receive Android 4.4 KitKat update after Google pushes out the software among its Nexus smartphones and tablets. The South Korean exclusive smartphone features 5.0-inches of screen display with 720p resolution, minimized bezel of 2.4mm, 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM, 13MP rear camera shooter, 32GB internal storage with up to 64GB of microSD card support and 2150 mAh battery.

Recently, Google released Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and only a few selected devices are currently running it, exclusion of the Nexus line. Samsung already confirmed Android 4.3 on Galaxy S3 while HTC decided to bring it on the One. Sony on the other hand is busy developing the software which will be pushed among the Xperia Z family and other selected Xperia devices.

For concerned users of HTC, LG, Motorola, Samsung and Sony devices, your manufacturer will definitely push Android 4.4 KitKat eventually. Owners must be patient as these makers need to impart their applications and UI on the Android 4.4 KitKat OS.
