HTC and Motorola confirm official Android 4.4 KitKat heading their smartphones very soon to deliver utmost performance and features. Here are the details for HTC One, One Max, One Mini, Moto X, Droid MAXX, Droid Ultra and Droid Mini about Android 4.4 update.

HTC One Family

HTC America Jason Mackenzie already announced an official Android 4.4 KitKat update for HTC One original variant, developer edition and Google Play edition rolling out within 90 days. According to an interview with Engadget, HTC scheduled the three variants of One smartphone differently as they have different UI.

HTC One Google Play gets ahead on Android 4.4 KitKat which is scheduled to be out within 15 days while the Developer Edition owners can expect the update within 30 days. HTC One original is expected to get the latest OS version within 90 days.

Sense UI 5.5 will be kept on the Android 4.4 KitKat official software to the original variant of HTC One including the international version but Mackenzie didn't reveal what changes owners may expect to see.

HTC is still looking into the rollout plans for One Max and One Mini which will be announced soon with possible inclusion of One X and One X+.

Motorola X and Droids

Motorola teased the public about their official Android 4.4 KitKat update rollout among several smartphones including Moto X, Droid MAXX, Droid Ultra and Droid Mini. Motorola plans to follow through via update after Google updates Nexus and Google Play Edition devices.

Owners of current Motorola smartphones should expect the promised quicker updates from the manufacturer which was evident after Motorola recently released a software upgrade across all network carriers.

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean may be skipped by Motorola to make room for Android 4.4 KitKat which saves a lot of time and effort in developmental phase. Motorola opened their support Web site for software updates which will determine if your current handset is eligible. "Moto X: This device will be upgrade to KitKat (Android 4.4)," according to Motorola's support page.
