The Play Store Event

October 24, 2013 event has been expected to be the official Android 4.4 KitKat and Nexus 5 grand appearance turned out to be a Google Play Store happening which will focus more on changes, features and future of the famous Android service.

"The October 24 event will not be a launch of a device or hardware, rather a mixer for consumer press to better acquaint themselves with Google Play," according to a Google spokesperson, quoted by CrossMap.

Tweets from Geek and Android Police supported the Google spokesperson that Nexus 5 will be no show and likely Android 4.4 KitKat as well. But we cannot remove the possible clues which will lead to the date of Google's biggest event of the year.

Getting Hold FCC Filing

Another possibility is the delay of getting FCC certification which Nexus 5 needs to be official launched. According to Mirror News, FCC is unable to clear any devices for 98 per cent of their employees have been furloughed. However, Google did not clarify if any of their upcoming devices have been affected by the FCC crisis.

Nexus 5 FCC certification may already been under Google's hands and simply waiting to open the grand entrance after Play Store event.

United States Shutdown

FCC delay is just one result of the United States government shutdown which no one knows how long will actually last.

"Increasingly it's going to have an impact on the widely known and available consumer products, depending on how long the shutdown lasts," Washington-based partner with Hogan Lovells, Michele Farquhar stated.

Of course, it will deliver an impact but so far Google, Apple, Samsung and other manufacturers seem to be going smoothly as devices keep coming out from their warehouses.

LG G Flex Technology

LG is soon to announce their curved display smartphone using the G Flex technology. LG G Flex is also rumoured to be a cause of Nexus 5 delay for the company may want to launch it alongside with the new Nexus smartphone.

But Google may change its mind and could proceed without the G Flex launch. Nexus 5 is very popular which can take away G2's spotlight but no matter what happens, LG is going to benefit to another huge success just like with Nexus 4.

Christmas Season

Aside from Android's birthday, another timely moment for Nexus 5 to shine is the Christmas season. The holidays will open more doors for promos, discounts, better deals, freebies and the most expected "XMAS gifts" under the XMAS tree.

Nexus 5 has a close price range with Nexus 4 and most people would like to purchase devices as gifts to their loved ones. Nexus 5 won't be a bad choice, it is brand-new and inexpensive compared to other Android smartphones in the market.

No matter what kind of delay it is, October or November 2013, Google isn't going to make the official event of Android 4.4 KitKat and Nexus 5 meet the days of December. The company probably just making sure that everything is equipped, prepared and ready for the arrival of two new things in the Android world. The Play Store is the stepping stone for 4.4 KitKat and Google wants user to understand the changes before flooding new firmware updates soon.
