Android 4.4 Update: 50 Entry-Level And Mid-Range Smartphones Not Getting KitKat But Eligible To Run It
Several mid-range and entry-level smartphones have been selected and receive them but not all are graced for the same update plans. Here are several Android phones among hundreds which are not getting an official KitKat update.
HTC Smartphones
Several HTC smartphones are not entitled to get Android 4.4 KitKat but may be updated with bug fixing firmware instead. HTC focuses on its current line-up and still unsure if One X and One X+ are receiving future upgrades. Here are some of their phones that should get a taste of KitKat:
1. Older One edition phones: S, SC, XL, ST
2. Older Desire edition phones: C, V, VC, XC, VT, X, SV

LG Optimus Line
LG G2 and G Pad 8.3 are the ones nominated for Android 4.4 upgrade with Vanilla version. LG launched several models under the Optimus line, which should get the latest firmware.

Samsung Galaxy
Older Galaxy smartphones are unable to receive update due to hardware incompatibility, requiring 512 MB of RAM to run Android 4.4 KitKat. But several others deserve to get optimisation with Android 4.4.

Sony Xperia
Sony included Xperia Z series such as Z1, ZR/ZL, Z Ultra to get Android 4.4 KitKat scheduled in 2014. In addition, several mid-range smartphones, including Xperia SP, V, T and TX. However, more Xperia devices are eligible to run Android 4.4 KitKat but hasn't been declared to get one.
