Samsung Galaxy S3 users under Sprint can now update their devices to the Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The release of the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update suggests that other S3 users should expect the roll out soon on their devices depending on the carrier and the region. People just have to check their notifications if they can download and install the update already. Samsung Galaxy S2 devices can also now be updated to Android 4.4 KitKat.

For a few weeks, there have been reports of the Android 4.4.2 roll out to Samsung Galaxy S3. This time, Sprint leads the pack. The update offers a number of improvements, new features and speed enhancements. According to a report by Android Geeks, Samsung should start rolling out the rest of the updates at the end of May. The release will most likely begin in Europe.

Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.4.2 KitKat update offers features like Default App settings, Location Settings including fresh full-screen mode and minor enhancements. The Location Settings allow users to check which of the location detection features affect battery life. Users can enable or disable the features depending on how much battery life the user wants to save.

The Default App, on the other hand, offers a more convenient way to check which app controls specifications. A user can change the settings based on their needs. According to Android Geeks, the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update can speed up the performance of Galaxy S3. The update requires less memory allowing it to optimize and work with devices despite being previous or older models.

Motoring Crunch also reported that Samsung Galaxy S2 owners can update ahead of the official release of the Android 4.4 KitKat through CyanogenMod CM11 firmware. According to the report, the ROM appears to be free from bloatware of bugs that users can install CMS apps and other tweaks. The update is for model GT-i9100. It is best for users to consult the CyanogenMod site for more information on how to install the update.
