Google has began rolling its Android 4.4 KitKat since December. It has released a series of minor updates after the introduction of Android 4.4 KitKat. The Internet giant also introduced the Android 4.4.2 KitKat. As it continues to roll out devices such as Nexus 4, Nexus 5 and Nexus 7, users are starting to express grievances about the latest update.

In the latter part of November, Google introduced the initial version of Android 4.4 KitKat. The update offered a range of improvements and features to the devices such as the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, 7 and 10. After the release, there were some complaints posted.

Issues included a notorious exchange bug causing extreme battery drain, Nexus 4 dialer issues and speaker problems with the Nexus 5. The handset also suffers from signal disruptions. People using the handset experience connectivity drops every time they send an SMS.

Google confirmed such issues promising users that it will release fixes soon. The first fix rolled out in Android 4.4.1. The update came after Google announced several important camera fixes for the Nexus 5. The company did not discuss any fixes for other issues on the Nexus 5 and older models like the Nexus 7.

On Dec. 9, rumors about the Android 4.2.2 KitKat update surfaced. Then Google started rolling out the update astonishing many Nexus users. Both the Android 4.4.1 and Android 4.4.2 continue to roll out. Such updates will fix the issues supposedly but apparently a new series of problems started plaguing Nexus users.

As cited in the initial Android 4.4 Kitkat, the Nexus 4 dialer was having problems. The dialer continues to crash for some owners. However, the problem persists despite the newest updates according to some users. Google acknowledged the problem saying:

"Thanks again for taking your time to come to the forum and report these issues. The 4.4.1 and 4.4.2 updates included fixes for some situations that are causing your crash problems, but we know there are still users experiencing this symptom and we're still working on it. i'll post when I have the next update."

There are also problems about the exchange accounts, including the stock email app issue on the Nexus 5. Nexus 7 users reported problems on media storage crashing. There have been users who had difficulty transferring files between the device and their computers. Other issues include broken WiFi, broken NFC tags and faulty Bluetooth connectivity.

For those experiencing Android 4.4 and Android 4.4.1 problems, some users noted the problems ceased once they moved to Android 4.4.2 KitKat. This was not the case for some. It was essential for users to assess their devices first before reporting issues. Taking a look at the installation process and going back should also help shed light on what went wrong.

As for other problems, there are custom fixes and tools offered by third-party providers. Some experts recommended resetting the devices to their factory settings to remove all issues. Users were advised to back up their data before doing this.
