The Android 4.4 KitKat has already rolled out to quite a few Samsung devices but the Android update is yet to come to the mid-range and low-end devices of the Korean tech giant's smartphone line-up.

Samsung has been working on bringing the Android 4.4.3 update to its mid-range and low-end devices according to the insider of Sam Mobile. Thus far, the Android 4.4.3 with build number KTU70, which is the yet-to-be unveiled is currently tested on the Samsung Galaxy S5 Exynos and Snapdragon variants and the Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE-A (GT-I9506A) variant.

As of the moment the Android 4.4.3 is only being incorporated with Samsung's own features and software, thus it will likely not be launched for a month or so. Google might roll it out by the end of the month before the Google I/O, followed by roll out to the Samsung Galaxy S5 and other devices.

Interestingly, the Android 4.4.3 is already tested with the Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE-A even though the Android 4.4.2 update has not rolled out for the device just yet. However, it is entirely possible that the device will skip directly to the Android 4.4.3 update in the future.

Android 4.4.2 KitKat Release Update for Other Samsung Smartphones

Meanwhile, as far as older Samsung devices are concerned, it appears that Samsung is on track on the time frame previously seen in the past. In fact, Samsung devices such as the Galaxy Mega 5.8, Galaxy Grand 2 and the Galaxy Mega 6.3 are already undergoing final testing and should receive the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update sometime in June.

On the other hand, the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for the Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE and Galaxy S4 Mini is already completed and expected to be available in May and June, respectively. However, the update status for the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini LTE and Galaxy Note 3 Neo are still pending thus far.

Similar to the Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE-A, some of these devices might skip directly to Android 4.4.3 as well, as such it is possible that the update could be push further to a July or later roll out.
