A leaked photo has hinted Google is already rolling out Android 4.4.3 Kitkat OS update to Nexus devices.

Android Origin reported a photo showed a device with 4.4.3 version of Android operating system. The image showed a Google Nexus 7 tablet with Android version 4.4.3 listed in the About page. Reports said Google is working hard on the new Android 4.4.3 Kitkat OS update. But Google has not announced when it will release the new mobile software.

The photo origin was still unknown. It was quite suspicious that no data about the official change log if the update is already being pushed. Usually Google will at least update the AOSP binaries page when a new update has been released.

Another suspicious aspect on the photo is the Build Number. The supposed build number of the new update was KTU72B and KTU83 with KT stood for KitKat, U stood for Update, and the numbers meant the builds were created on the 72nd day of 2014 and the 83rd day of 2014. But the photo showed KMU89C.

The photo began to circulate on April1, which could be an April Fool's Day prank. Thus, Android users must not get too excited as the update roll out has not been confirmed.

Google usually rolls out new Android updates during the working week rather than weekend. Also, the update was rolled out in stages. This meant some users will receive the latest update until Google has ensured smooth delivery of the OS update.

Meanwhile, Android Police reported Android 4.4.3 will be a massive bug fix update. But users must not expect any cosmetic changes or any new features. Google might save new features and UI changes for the next major version of Android. Other bug fixes that will be included in the Kitkat update are:

  • Frequent data connection dropout fix
  • Camera focus fix
  • Power Manager display wakelock fix
  • Multiple Bluetooth fixes
  • Random reboot fix
  • USB debugging security fix
  • Wi-Fi auto-connect fix
  • Stuck in activation screen fix
  • Missed call LED fix
  • VPN Fix
