Android 5.0 L Cannot Win Over Apple iOS 8: Top Three Reasons Why
Google's Android L will reportedly be available for download this November 1. The mobile OS will launch on October 15 or 16 featured in the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 platform. Google's Android L release will pit it against Apple's iOS 8. Apple released ahead giving it a good lead time from Google but analysts believe the early launch is not the only factor why iOS 8 will continue to dominate over Android L.
Mobile OS adoption has always been a rivalry between Apple and Google. Announcements of the iOS 8 and the Android L previously kept the market buzzing on which OS will dominate. Apple released the iOS prompting the market to turn all eyes on Google wondering what the internet giant has in store. Despite the constant battle for market share and more number of Android devices, analysts believe that Android still cannot surpass iOS based on a number of things.
Google wanted to achieve a simple thing with Android. It took inspiration from Blackberry to deliver its own software encouraging people to sign up and use it. Eventually, a patronage would encourage brand sustenance. Google can "suck" competition driving views to its platform and other services.
Despite the idea of Android supposedly advantageous for manufacturers and consumers, Forbes pointed that something went wrong and continues to go wrong with the Android initiative. Apple targeted the high end market and it continues to reap the benefit. The low-end market remains a challenge for Google.
Too much competition continues to drive prices down forcing companies to operate more at a loss than a gain. As companies put an effort to design and features, they eventually become forced to offer lower prices to compete in Android's turf. Apple remains king in the premium arena building a walled garden featuring a robust and coherent ecosystem. Google has yet to achieve that uniformity.
Android has been catching up on all aspects of screen sizes, variants and competitors. Despite putting out impressive platforms, the company still cannot target consumers properly in turn arousing more doubt than convincing patrons. According to Forbes, this forces developers to tweak platforms that can help boost earnings from advertising.
Analysts also point out to Apple iOS 8's continuity feature. Apple has always been praised for its excellent ecosystem. The continuity feature on the new update is something Google has to accomplish yet as it addresses fragmentation. The continuity platform is nothing new but it enhances the overall user experience especially for Apple with multiple products. The iOS 8 allows people to work seamlessly with OS X Yosemite and iOS 8.
Final verdict on Google's potential against Apple will come upon release of its major OS update.
