Android 5.0 L update for Nexus 5, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 Release Imminent as Nexus X Appears
The Android 5.0 L platform remains the next big mobile operating systems update aside from Apple's iOS 8. With new interesting features like the Material Design, attention over the platform has been building up. This is especially true with the promise of new devices debuting with it. Apart from the new Nexus devices to introduce the platform, Android 5.0 L will also reportedly trickle to devices like the Nexus 5, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10. When can people expect the rollout and what is in store for users?
While Google has not provided exact launch details about the Android L, previous practices of the company should be a good basis on when to expect the platform according to Android Geeks. Google usually releases two primary Android updates every year. These include a major update during the summer and another at fall or towards the end of the year. Nonetheless, despite promises from countless manufacturers and carriers that their devices will receive the Android L update, there have been limited details as whether it is really coming. Fortunately for a new sighting, a Nexus X smartphone listed under AnTuTu shows that Google has been testing the Android L already.
Instead of the Google Nexus 6, the Nexus X smartphone has been gaining attention. A number of reports claim that this may be the Nexus 6. According to a leak from TKTechNews, the Nexus X device showed up on AnTuTu revealing specs of the upcoming handset and the Android L. The Nexus X bears the following features: 2K display, uad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.7GHz, 13MP camera and 3GB RAM.
The sighting also reveals the Android version to be "5.0." This coincides with previous reports that the next Android will go by Android 5.0 L instead of Android 4.5. Some reports say that the L in the Android version may mean Lemon Meringue Pie. It will herald a new set of fixes and updates starting from the Android 5.x version.

Talk Android reported that the Nexus X may be revealed around September 17. This is earlier compared to other Nexus releases but may be sensible as Apple is set to reveal its iOS 8 and iPhone 6 at the start of September.
