Google has finally released the Android 5.0 Lollipop software upgrade exclusively for its Nexus line of smartphones and tablets. When the Google Nexus 9 tablet was released on November 3, many Nexus device owners expected that the Android Lollipop update would also come to their devices from that very day. Two days ago, we had reported that the Android Lollipop's release for Nexus devices has been postponed to November 12.

The arrival of the Android L for Nexus devices was proclaimed through an official tweet. According to GSMArena, the Android 5.0 update is now available for Nexus 5, Nexus 7 (first edition), Nexus 7 2013 (second edition) and Nexus 10. Android developers have made the factory images of Android L update available for users to download and flash.

Nexus device owners can now be updated with Android L through OTA (over-the-air) as well as factory images. If the OTA update is not showing up on your device, you can opt to upgrade your device by flashing it with a factory image. Currently, only Wi-Fi variants of Nexus 7 first edition and second edition can be update with Android Lollipop. Owners of cellular versions of the Nexus 7 2013 and 2012 editions will have to wait longer to avail the update.

Owners of recent Motorola devices can also update their devices with the new Android build alongside the Nexus devices. Motorola has also announced that Android 5.0 Lollipop build is available for the Moto G 2014 and the Moto X Pure Edition 2014.
