Android 5.1 Lollipop OTA Update Available For Nexus 4
The Android 5.1 Lollipop is the most recent firmware upgrade available for Nexus devices. According to the International Business Times report published on April 1, the most recent build available for the Nexus 4 was Android 5.0.1 Lollipop. The post also reports that the new upgrade is unavailable for other Nexus device such as Nexus 7 2013 and Nexus 9.
The Android 5.1 Lollipop was released in the previous month for Nexus devices like the Nexus 5, Nexus 6 phablet, Nexus 7 2012 (Wi-Fi edition) and the Nexus 10 tablet. At the beginning of this month, the firmware update came to Nexus 7 2013. And finally, the older Nexus 4 has the aforementioned devices to receive the Android 5.1 Lollipop.
According to Android Authority, the Android 5.1 Lollipop OTA update is available for Nexus 4 users. The new firmware build is LMY470 and it weights 174 MB. Android 5.1 Lollipop is an incremental update that eliminates the issues that came along with the Android 5.0 Lollipop that was released in October last year.
Apart from improving the performance of the device, the firmware will also add a new Device Protection feature. It allows users to safeguard the data on the device if it gets stolen. It also brings a convenient way to switch Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections by accessing Quick Settings.
As of this writing, the factory image of the update is unavailable. However, it can be directly downloaded from Google’s server, reports 9 to 5 Google. Here is the link.
