Android Marshmallow update news for LG G4, LG G3, LG V10 and LG G Flex 2
Google officially released the latest Android operating system back in October 2015. LG was one of the first handset manufacturers to promptly roll out the new Android v6.0 to one of its recent smartphones, the LG G4 for users in Poland.
According to a report in Tech Gadget Central, LG G4 users in the United States will receive the Android Marshmallow update latest by February 2016. Currently, Sprint is the only US carrier to update the LG G4 to Marshmallow. Last year, in November, LG updated G4 users in its home country followed by select regions in Europe.
The company has also plans to roll out the Android Marshmallow update to LG G3, LG V10 and the LG G Flex 2. The over-the-air (OTA) updates could take several weeks to reach out to all users. Thus, eligible LG owners need to be patient. The timeline largely depends on the region, the carrier and also the model number of the device.
The South Korean tech giant has already pushed the software update to all 2013 flagship device, the LG G3 users in Poland. Thus, it is expected that the company would soon update G3 users in other regions.
In the last week of December 2015, Sprint announced to roll out the firmware update to its variant of LG G Stylo (LG G4 Stylus). As reported by Android Geeks, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will soon be gradually rolled out to LG V10, and LG G Flex 2 .
Users can verify the system update notifications from Settings > About Phone > Update Center > Check for updates. The update will come packed with a host of new features including apps permission, Doze mode, and support for Android Pay, Google Now on Tap and auto-backup.
