While first-time fathers might struggle juggling the responsibilities of parenting work and career goals, Andy Murray refused to be bothered by the reality of fatherhood. Murray said that he doesn’t worry about the impact of being a first-time father on his game.

“I’m not thinking what the impact (of becoming a father) will have on my career,” Murray told Agent France-Presse . He added, “We are both extremely excited, happy, and we feel lucky.”

Murray said that they want to keep the pregnancy private during this time. The World No. 3, who married his longtime girlfriend Kim Sears in April, added that they would like to keep some information about their upcoming baby between family and close friends.

The British tennis star is the latest player in the top 10 to become a father. World No. 2 and 17-time grand slam champion Roger Federer has two sets of twins born in May 2014. Federer’s fellow compatriot and Davis Cup teammate Stan Wawrinka, who won this year’s French Open title, is also a father. In February, World No. 1 Novak Djokovic became a father for the first time.

Meanwhile, Murray is set to take part in the 2015 Rogers Cup. It is Murray’s second hard court event after being eliminated early in his first US Open tune up event at the 2015 Citi Open in Washington.

Seeded second, Murray could meet top seed Djokovic if both progress to the final of the ATP Masters 1000 event in Montreal. Murray, who is given a first-round bye, will meet Tommy Robredo, who defeated compatriot Feliciano Lopez 6-3 3-6 6-3. Murray leads his head-to-head series against Robredo 5-2.

Australian Bernard Tomic is also competing at the event. He play against reigning US Open champion Marin Cilic in the next round after beating Portuguese Joao Sousa in straight sets 6-3 6-3.
