HTC One 2 (HTC M8) is gaining more attention as another concept image of the rumored handset appeared online showing off an edge-to-edge, 2K screen display.

The new concept image was created by Rishi Ramesh who has done countless renders in the past and published in HTC Mate. Based from the photos, the edge-to-edge screen display is probably 5-inch in size. The resolution may either be full HD or 2K display. The front has no buttons and the handset sports a metal body like its predecessor, HTC One.

Under the hood, the handset will probably sport the latest Snapdragon 800 or the Snapdragon 805 CPU. The possibility of packing a new CPU is high since HTC failed to update the processor of its own phablet HTC One Max and put the older Snapdragon 600 inside losing against Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

Expectations are high for the HTC One 2 after HTC One Max caused disappointment to some tech reviewers. However, HTC One 2 must pack top of the line specs and features to beat its rivals in the smartphone market.

This was not the first time the HTC One 2 concept image emerged online. Folks from Techradar designed a render of the HTC One 2 packed with amazing specs and features. They imagined the handset to have the same metallic body of its predecessor but now the front sports an edge-to-edge screen display.

The developers said the screen is a 5-inch 2K display. Other specs and features include 2.3 GHz quadcore Snapdragon 800 CPU inside, 3 GB of RAM and 4000 mAh battery. Consumers can choose among 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB storage versions with expandable storage via microSD card slot. The handset will bring forth the HTC's trademark ultrapixels camera. HTC One 2 will also most likely run with Android 4.4 Kitkat OS.

HTC One 2 release date is still unannounced but reliable tipster @evleaks revealed that the handset would arrive at major US networks by the "end of Q1 '14." If the launch date is on the first quarter of 2014, HTC One 2 may become available for purchase March 2014.

HTC One 2 rivals, Samsung Galaxy S5 and iPhone 6, are also rumored to be launched in the first quarter of 2014. The famous source of leaks also hinted on some of the possible specs of HTC One 2. According to one of its tweets, a 5-inch 1080p screen and a Snapdragon 800 processor are both distinct possibilities. Moreover, it is the first phone to feature Sense 6.0.
