The App Store Celebrates Fifth Year; Releases Free Apps For A Limited Time Only
The App Store celebrates its fifth year with a big giveaway. Apple fans can download a host of top apps for iPhone and iPad such as Infinity Blade II, Badland, Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery EP, Disney's Where's My Water?, Traktor DJ and more.
These apps have never been free on the App Store before and most of it go on a high price.
An example is the Traktor DJ app which normally costs $19.99. It features eight professional effects and is compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch and Ipad.
The Over app, on the other hand, allows users to manipulate their photos by adding texts and artwork and share them on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Instagram.
The official announcement came via tweet this morning on the App Store's Twitter account.
Moreover, the iTunes store announced "From the 500 apps available at launch in 2008 to the more than 900,000 at your fingertips today, it's been a remarkably prolific five years for the App store."
Apple's App Store has come a long way since it debuted five years ago. The company has paid over $10 billion to developers according to Apple CEO, Tim Cook.
