Apple In 2016: Apple Watch 2, iPad Air 3, MacBook 2016, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus & More
Industry experts believe that iPhone sales are expected to decline next year. Apple’s market cap has declined from US$775 (AU$1071) billion to around US$614 (AU$848) billion in the previous week. Moreover, the sale of iPads has also fallen consistently since the past six quarters. Experts are of the view that the challenges that Apple will enounter in 2016 can be only dealt with upcoming devices:
Here are some of the new Apple products that will be released in 2016:
Apple Watch 2
Apple is rumoured to be working on Apple Watch 2 that is likely to release by March 2016. The newer smartwatch will be less dependent on iPhone and is expected to sport a slimmer screen. It will be able to deliver around 18 hours of battery life.
Apple iPhone 6C
The iPhone 6C will be a 4-inch smartphone that will come out to succeed iPhone 5S. Some of its features include Apple A9 chipset, fingerprint reader, and metallic design. It is expected to launch alongside Apple Watch 2 in March 2016.
Apple iPad Air 3
iPad fans and analysts were expecting Apple to release iPad Air 3, but it did not happen. Hence, the Apple iPad 3 is one of the most expected Apple products in 2016. It will continue to sport a 9.7-inch display and will feature an Apple A9X chipset. It will be also coming with an iSight camera of 8 MP. The iPad Air 3 is also expected to get announced during the launch event in March 2016.
MacBook Air 2016 and MacBook Pro 2016
The March 2016 event may also mark the arrival of MacBook Air 2016. Rumors are rife that the MacBook Pro 2016 will arrive in June or a few months after the release of MacBook Air 2016. At this time not much information on the specifications and features of these devices is available.
Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus
The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are expected to arrive by September 2016. The rumoured specifications and features of iPhone 7 and 7 Plus smartphones have already surfaced. Speculations suggest that both the smartphone will be coming with ‘self-healing elastomer’ that will make them water and dust resistant.
Focus on services
All the products that Apple will unleash will be upgraded variants of this year’s product. Hence, the company will not be unveiling brand new products in 2016. The Cupertino-based company is reportedly going to focus on providing better services such as iPhone upgrade program that will encourage iPhone owners to upgrade to newer iPhones on a yearly basis, Business Insider reported.
Apple Car
Apple is rumoured to be working on Project Titan that may eventually get announced in 2019-2020 as an electric Apple Car, Wall Street Journal reported. The company is reportedly testing the electric car in the Bay Area and to build its automotive wing, it has already started acquiring technology. Apple has recently acquired battery technology of Tesla that may power its electric car in the near future.
