Apple Cuts Prices on Macs, New Inventory Shows 2013 Haswell MacBook Pro Release is Well on the Way
A recent channel inventory snapshot shows Apple will be releasing the Retina MacBook Pros this coming Tuesday, Oct 22. The indirect channel inventory revealed a redesigned Mac pro and 9.7-inch iPad 5, according to Apple Insider. There are also indications about the second-generation iPad Mini and even a large volume of Apple TV.
Apple is gearing up for a series of product launches. The hype has been building up for a few weeks now. The reported inventory data has been summarized by Apple Insider. According to the report, the data comes from one of the tech giant's indirect channels supporting big-box retailers including resellers. The data excludes those channels serving Apple-controlled retail stores and online shops.
As a clarification, the inventory listing is not a primary type of source of information. It should only be a supplement to news and reports about Apple's next product launches. Apple is scheduled to release its refreshed line of gadgets this Oct 22.
The data, including the Mac Price Guide from Apple Insider, shows that the 13- and 15-inch MacBook Pros are well on their way. The same goes for the 9.7-inch iPad retinas and Mac Pro but not for iPad Mini and Apple TV.
The report also reveals that inventory levels for the 16- and 32-GB iPad mini remain extremely high. This is also surprising, especially for a product line supposedly receiving its refresh of models. The data shows that Apple may be intending to supply a number of non-Retina iPad minis for a discounted price. This is different from the new Retina iPads.
The tech giant seems intent on supplying more new Retina iPads and no discounted versions.
Another indication that Apple will be releasing its 2013 MacBook Pro is the sales deals found on many shops. For example, MacMall just recently sold out its $699.99 MacBook Air promotion, but still offers the device at a discounted price of $749.99.
There are still questions where Apple is at with its television venture. Unless the company releases an official announcement though, the market remains in the dark regarding the tech giant's stand on this technology.
