Apple iMac 2017 could come with high-advanced 5K Display technology; Intel Kaby Lake Processor to boost performance & speed
The Apple iMac 2017 missed an October release and since then rumours have flooded the Internet, all discussing about a possible release date for the device and its specs and features. Apple last updated its iMac line in 2015 with the 21-inch models getting the Retina Display and the larger display versions getting the Sky Lake chipsets. Thus, the iMac upgrade is long overdue.
It is highly possible that the iMac 2017 will get the Intel Kaby Lake processor to boost speed and graphics performance, reports BGR. In case, there are delays in procuring the Kaby Lake processor, Apple may also go with the Xeon processors though that is unlikely as these chipsets are used only in high-end servers and workstations.
The Xeon processors are immensely expensive than the standard Intel chipsets and such a processor in an Apple iMac 2017 seems totally implausible. Moreover, a Xeon processor in an iMac may render other Apple computers, laptops and tabs useless as users will be drawn towards this device only.
Microsoft Surface Studio is here and the current Apple iMac has taken a backseat. It is high time Apple reclaims it spot of glory by introducing a totally revamped iMac 2017 with most-impressive specs. A full touch screen version is widely anticipated. Even Apple Pen support is expected.
Many tech enthusiasts are of the opinion that the iMac 2017 will get an OLED Touch Bar. The MacBook Pro 2016 has recently got the touch strip along with a fingerprint scanner. The Apple iMac 2017 could become the first VR-ready Apple desktop. If this feature really comes to the iMac, Apple will have an instant upper hand on the Microsoft Surface Studio.
As per reports, the Apple iMac 2017 may also introduce a highly advanced 5K Display technology. A 16GB RAM in iMac 2017 may also become the new standard for all iMac devices. A full Flash Storage is also expected.
