Apple iPad 5 vs Microsoft Surface Pro 2: Features, Release and More Comparisons
Apple and Microsoft will battle it out soon for tablet supremacy as the two tech giants prepare to release their iPad 5 and Surface Pro 2 soon. Apple has been leading the market with their iPad 4 offering but can Microsoft change this?
As mentioned, Apple has led the pack for the tablet sector. However, as the company continues to delay their product launch, many other companies, like Microsoft, decided to take on their bets on the market. Some succeeded some did not.
While Microsoft was not as successful with their first generation of tablet, the company still plans on releasing a second installment - the Surface Pro 2. Since both Apple and Microsoft are two of the biggest names in tech and are both set to release new products soon, there is now the question whether there would really be a battle between the two.
Apple is best known for surprising consumers while Microsoft has been a household name. A comparison of the two upcoming products should be helpful.
Most tech users look for a device that can perform extremely fast. Likewise, they want the device to allow then to multitask smoothly. It has already been reported that Microsoft has been working on a new line of Surface models and the company invested beyond Core i5. Some reports also said that the new tablet will go by Surface Plus. Apple's iPad 5 will most likely have the A7 quad core processor with it.
Apple has got a new patent. This includes a new Smart Cover that comes with an inductive charging transmitter. Reports say that it is possible for Apple to include this on their next iPad. This means that when the cover is attached to the iPad, the device begins charging once it is closed. The cover acts a wireless charger as reported by AppleInsider.
Microsoft will become one of the first tech manufacturers to feature a new high-speed but power efficient 802.11ac WiFi standard. There is no word yet about additional or new connectivity options on the iPad.
Screen has a major factor affecting the sales and appeal of a device. Users like their displays to be of high resolution and high definition. The better pixel support means the better sales potential. Surface Pro 2 will have a 7-inch display which will challenge the iPad Mini and the Google Nexus 7. As for Apple's iPad 5, reports say it will be 9.7 inches and will offer similar resolution as the first two iPads.
Apple may also include their Retina Display technology.
