Apple iPad Air 2 Has A New Three Core Processor And 2 GB RAM, Reveals GeekBench Benchmark
The iPad Air 2 was officially launched quite recently and it has 10 new powerful features onboard. As always, Apple did not reveal the amount of RAM that is present inside the iPad Air 2. A benchmark test was done on the device to find out the details of the internals of the iPad Air 2.
According to Primatelabs, the iPad Air 2 is packed with a 2 GB RAM along with a three core processor. All the previous models of iPad have been powered by a dual-core processor. However, Apple has used a three core processor for the first time that comes present inside the hood of iPad Air2.
Moreover, the Geekbench benchmark testing has also revealed that the iPad Air 2 is a monstrous performer. It managed to record a score of 4477. No other tablet has managed to score such a high score.
This means that the A8X chipset that powers up the iPad Air 2 is a three-core processor. The 64-bit processor that lies under the hood of iPad Air 2 is 40 times faster than the A8 processor that is fitted in the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus handsets. The graphics of the iPad Air is also 2.5 times faster than the GPU that comes with older A7 chipset. According to Arts Technica, the new processor is so powerful that it can perform 66% times better than the older A7 processor.
The iPad Air 2 is the world's slimmest tablet with a thickness of only 6.1 mm and it weighs 437 g only. The new iPad Air 2 comes with a host of impressive features. One of the major new features that comes with the iPad Air 2 is that it comes with a fingerprint sensor under the Home button.
The new iPad Air 2 comes with a display screen that is fitted with anti-reflective coating. It features an 8MP camera with F/2.4 aperture. The front features 1.2 MP camera with F/2.2 aperture. The iPad Air 2 will be available in three colour options, namely gray, silver and gold.
