The iPad Air 2 has a sleek body with aluminum casing. With the thickness of 6.1 mm, it is the slimmest tablet in the world. It weighs 444 g. It is available in colours like gray, silver and gold. On the other side, the Nexus 9 is manufactured by HTC and the brushed aluminum finish will remind you of the appearance of HTC One and HTC One M8. It also features a pair of dual BoomSound speakers. Its thickness is 7.9 mm and weighs 436 g. The Nexus 9 is available in colour variants like black, white and sand.
The iPad Air 2 has a screen size of 9.7-inch whereas the Nexus 9 has an 8.9-inch screen. Both the tablets have IPS LCD display screen and even support the same screen resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. The iPad Air 2 offers a pixel density of 264 ppi and the Nexus 9 supports 281 ppi.
Processor, RAM And Storage
The iPad Air 2 is powered by a 64-bit dual-core A8X chipset that delivers a clocking speed of 1.4 GHz. As of now, Apple has not revealed the amount of RAM present inside the iPad Air 2. It is available in three storage options like 16 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB. Under the hood of the Nexus 9 is the Nvidia Tegra K1 dual-core Denver processor that offers a clocking speed of 2.3 GHz and is supported by Kepler DX 1 graphics and 2 GB RAM. The tablet is available is in storage variants like 16 GB and 32 GB.
Camera And Software
Both iPad Air 2 and Nexus 9 have an 8 MP camera on the rear side which supports full HD video recording. The front side of iPad Air 2 features 1.2 MP camera whereas the Nexus 9 has a 1.6 MP camera. Bothe cameras support HD video shooting.
The Apple iPad Air 2 is packed with the latest iOS 8 whereas the Nexus 9 is shipped with the brand new Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. Both the tablets feature fingerprint sensor buried under the Home button.

Apple is still mum on the iPad Air 2's battery. However, according to Valuewalk, the Cupertino company has revealed that the tablet offers 10 hours of battery life. The Google Nexus 9 is packed with 6700 mAh battery that supports 8.5 to 9 hours of battery life.
When it comes to pricing, the iPad Air 2 seems to be costlier than the Nexus 9. The 16 GB iPad Air 2 is priced at $499, the 32 GB edition comes at $599 and the 128 GB variant is for $699. These prices are of Wi-Fi only version of iPad Air 2. The cellular + Wi-Fi models are priced at $629 for base model, 64 GB edition has a price tag of $729 and the 128 GB edition is available for $829. The 16 GB Nexus 9 is available for $399, 32 GB variant is priced at $479 and the LTE enabled 32 GB edition is available for $599.
