Apple iPad Air Review: Design, Processor, Camera & More
Apple iPad Air happens to be faster, less bulky, more refined; according to the wired.co.uk review. The 10-inch Apple tablet reaches a new height with iPad Air which is on sale for £399 (Wi-Fi-only, 16GB).
Design
The Air is 30 per cent lighter and 20 per cent thinner than iPad 4. While the size of the display is still the same (9.7 inch), the bezel which is around its edges is reduced. The Air can be easily held in a single hand, a major difference as it was not possible with the previous version. The screen quality has also improved a little bit. Apple's Pages comes free with iPad Air. It has got one of the best screens in the market, which is even better than its predecessor regarding colour accuracy.
TouchID
Apple did not include the TouchID fingerprint technology which is loved by many on the 5S. This, however, may not make much of a difference as most smartphones presumably stay in the owner's house. Security may not be a grave concern in those cases. However, there is every possibility that the feature may get introduced in the future versions.
Processor
The 64-bit A7 processor has been used by Apple here. This is the same one that was introduced in the iPhone 5S. On the other hand, there is one bonus which comes with it. You may find this even faster than the 5S. The Air runs at 1.4Ghz, while the 5S runs at 1.3Ghz. In the test conducted by the Web site, it shows that just a single processing core of the Air is faster than what iPad 4's combined power offers.
Battery
iPad Air continues Apple's tradition of offering some of the very best batteries in the tablet market. It gives 10 hours of battery life when you use it continuously under general conditions. The Web site put this claim to a test and it came with flying colours. The Air provides a 32-watt-hour battery.
Camera
Even though the image quality is slightly improved, the camera remains to be weak with 5 megapixels and no flash to offer.
Conclusion
The Web site considers iPad Air as the best 10-inch iPad ever ma
