Apple iPhone 5S, iPhone 6: Specs, (Budget) Price, Release Date Rumours; Should You Wait for It?
Apple iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 specs are the subject of much speculation and analysis in many tech sites. As the latest Android smartphones from Samsung (Galaxy S4) and HTC (One) continue to get a lot of attention, some iOS users could be asking: "Is it time to switch?"
Tech sleuths online have gathered many specs, price estimate and release date speculations for the next Apple smartphones. For one, iPhone 6 will reportedly be a phablet device, perhaps in response to the soon-to-be unveiled Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Other reports indicate the iPhone 5S will be a budget edition iOS phone.
If you are budget planning for smartphone shopping, take time to really get to know the upcoming phones. This is to avoid the painful gadget buyer's remorse.
According to some iPhone 5S specs rumours, this next S edition will reportedly sport a sharper screen display. Perhaps it will improve on connectivity features and provide NFC for its customers. Only subtle changes are expected, but surprises are always welcome.
The iPhone6 will not be released until early 2014, according to more rumours. It seems the iPhone 5S will come out in June or sometime in Q3 as advance party for a bigger, newer iPhone. It is possible the 5S could run on iOS7, if the Apple engineers could work double-time to make it happen.
"Our teams are hard at work on some amazing new hardware, software, and services that we can't wait to introduce this fall and throughout 2014," Apple CEO Tim Cook said on the tech giant's earnings call two weeks ago.
The iOS 7 could be the new software Cook was talking about. As for the hardware, the iPhone 6 in a whole new product category might be the big news for next year. iPhone 6 will reportedly come in a cheaper plastic-type chassis. Impossible, some Apple fans might say. But Apple might be sacrificing the sophisticated design for a lower, more budget-friendly price. This is to expand its market share, according to some reports.
Eager phone shoppers itching to replace their handset could be confused amid all the rumours. If you're one of them, will you wait for the next Apple phone?
