Even though the sales figures of the latest Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are skyrocketing, there is no denying the fact that there are some crucial problems with the iPhone 6 models released this year. One of the issues predominantly stands out from the rest, especially when compared to competitors' handsets. The problem in focus is the battery issue. However, it is not surprising to hear that Apple iPhone's battery has issues, after all the history is repeating itself.

When Apple released its iPhone 6 variants, the company did mention that the battery of its latest handsets have been improved. With a history of user complaints specific to battery piled up, the improvements made in the latest devices are not so much like the fans would like to see. On the other hand, smartphone manufacturers like Samsung, Sony, HTC, LG, Oppo, OnePlus and even Xiaomi are able to squeeze in better battery units, without compromising on the thinner profile of the handsets. With the mystery surrounding the battery problems keep swirling back in, Phone Arena went ahead and custom tested the Apple iPhone 6 models. This test evaluates the battery life sustainability on an average use.

Going by the custom test results, the 4.7-inch Apple iPhone 6 has scored 5 hours and 22 minutes. Meanwhile, the Android counterparts like the Samsung Galaxy S5 clocked 7 hours and 38 minutes, whereas the latest Sony Xperia Z3 trumped every other phone with a killer 9 hours and 29 minutes sustainability. Notably, both Samsung and Sony devices house battery units with better configurations. However, when compared to the iPhone 6, they are relatively thicker in size. Even though, Apple fans could be perfectly alright with the fact that the sleek phone can only house so much of battery configuration, it opens up fodder for criticism from Android fans.

In the case of the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus, the result is relatively better with 6 hours and 32 minutes. The impressive phablet 5.5-inch LG G3, on the other hand, scored 6 hours and 14 minutes, while the well-specced Oppo Find 7a scored 6 hours and 6 minutes. Even though, the iPhone 6 Plus's score is comparatively good, the device was beaten down by a slew of Android counterparts released earlier this year. Therefore, it is easy to conclude that Apple has equipped the larger iPhone 6 Plus with better battery configuration.
