Apple iPhone 6 Plus Bendgate Issue May Have Resolved, Speculations Swirling
The iPhone 6 Plus comes with a very thin body of 7.1 mm. It is so thin that various YouTube videos are available that show how easy it can bend. Consistently, Apple has been stating that the issue has been blow out of proportion. However, Apple had initially confirmed that nine customers have faced the said issue.
The portion below the lower volume button is not strong enough, therefore it can bend quite easily. According to BGR, rumours have it that iPhone 6 Plus bendgate has been quietly resolved by Apple. BGR states that a Reddit user, doctorkuddles, has revealed that he recently purchased 128 GB iPhone 6 Plus and it feels different from the 16 GB iPhone 6 owned by his wife.
The Redditor claims that there are few noticeable differences between his new iPhone 6 Plus and his wife's handset that was purchased on Sep. 20. He has revealed that tapping on the rear of both the handsets do not make the same kind of sound.
Since he is a doctor by profession, he used a stethoscope to listen to both the iPhone 6 Plus handsets. He felt that the newer handset sounded more solid compared to the percussion sound from his wife's handset. He further examined both the devices using a microscope. He noticed that there is a miniature red coloured object present inside the volume down button crank.
Another noticeable difference found by doctorkuddles is the difference in the weight of both the devices. The newer iPhone 6 Plus weighs 21 g more than the older device bought by his wife in September.
The final thing that almost confirms the arrival strengthened iPhone 6 Plus is the inspection conducted by iFixit. The Redditor got in touch with iFixit for confirmation. iFixit also purchased a newer model of iPhone 6 Plus and found that it weighs 0.8 g more than the model that was launched initially.
Even though there is a difference in the weight, it still falls within the iPhone 6 Plus device weigh range of up to 1.5 g from the weight officially listed on Apple's website and product package. There is no official confirmation from Apple on fixing the problem. Whether Apple has really fixed it or not, here is a report on why you should not worry about iPhone 6 Plus Bendgate issue.
