Even as the HTC One M9 release date, rumoured to replace the M8 that was issued in 2013, is far from confirmed, its phablet sibling is already attracting attention with some reports claiming that hulking Android device will take the name HTC Hima Ace Plus.

Now, it is a given that HTC is rolling out the bigger M9 to try to snatch the phablet crown from Apple's iPhone 6 Plus, which in turn toppled Samsung's Galaxy Note 4. So it is interesting how the giant from the Taiwanese firm will stack up against the iOS 8-powered supersized smartphone.

So far, if the leaked specs for the Hima Ace Plus, courtesy of 4G News via BGR, will be used as the bases for the phablet showdown Apple's bet is easily out specced and there are six ways that will happen.

Octa-core CPU beast

HTC is said to make a monster out of the M9 superphone by using the Snapdragon 810 processor as main engine. Against the dual-core A8 chip that is found inside of the iPhone 6 Plus, the former will readily outmuscle the latter with its 8-core that is able to hum away at top speed of 2.3GHz.

The fastest that the 6 Plus can go, according to GSM Arena, is 1.4GHz.

Quad HD display

The Hima Ace Plus will romp around with a 5.5-inch screen profile, matching that of the 6 Plus, but the display technology to come with humongous device is Quad HD. As explained by Android Pit, a phone panel in QHD will normally render in 2K resolution or 2560 x 1440 with the pixel density not less than 538ppi.

With the 6 Plus limited to 1080p at 401ppi, it is poised to get overwhelmed by the M9 phablet in the screen department.

3GB RAM

Following the lead of Samsung with the Note 4, HTC is bumping off the HTC One Max with the Hima Ace Plus that is equipped with 3GB of RAM. Such provision will simply outpace Apple's decision to give its first phablet with a measly 1GB of RAM.

With more RAM on-board, M9 phablet users are assured of better multitasking features that is hardwired anyway with the Android platform.

32GB basic internal memory

On the storage side, HTC seems to acknowledge that current smartphones will require as much digital room as possible so the larger M9 will hit the market boasting of 32GB memory as the basic model with likely accommodation for expansion via a memory card slot.

The 6 Plus, on the other hand, starts at 16GB that even loyal Apple fans now call as quite insufficient even for such minor tasks like OS updating.

20MP shooter

If the 4G News info is to believed, HTC is on its way to wage the megapixel war with its foes as the Hima Ace Plus will get rear camera lens that can go as high as 20MP, giving the device a good start to beat the 6 Plus shooter that to many experts is the best smartphone camera around.

Huge battery pack

Users and reviewers alike have confirmed that the 6 Plus on regular use will last more than a day, thanks to its 2915mAh battery. HTC will try to surpass the Apple energy juice by deploying the M9 phablet with a 3000mAh power source.

Release date this 2015 of the regular HTC One M9 is yet to be written on stone but the moment it happens the M9 phablet will surely follow soon.
