Apple's iPhone 6 has been making headlines starting early this year with reports indicating a number of excellent features to make it Apple's biggest launch yet. Even with still months ahead of the release, predictions about the device have been flying off the roof. According to recent information, it appears Apple is really ready to release the device as supply chain sources hint about production starting this July for both the iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2 series.

While there have been doubts about Apple's iPhone 6 plans, the release of the flagship is fast becoming a reality as more supply chain sources hint at production of the device. More importantly, recent leaks suggest that the Apple will push for the launch of two new iPhone 6 variants: 4.7 and 5.5-inch versions. According to a report by Bloomberg, China suppliers have started preparing for mass production to begin in July.

The report cites "people familiar with the plans" hinting at production details including plans on ramping up two new phones this fall. The two sources cited said that Apple will be ready to ship the phones around September with the company working on getting the 5.5-inch version ready around the same time. Production of the iPad Air 2 and other iPad tablets may also start around the same time because of their similar release timeline with the iPhone 6. Cult of Mac also noted that release of the devices including the iPhone 6 will be in around 12 weeks from production.

Throughout the years, smartphones have gained a significant value among consumers combining utilities of other electronic devices into one. The increased functionality of smartphones has also made people reliant on the device turning to their handsets for both work and entertainment. More importantly, smartphones with bigger screens have been gaining increasing market share because of better viewing experience.

Apple has stuck to 3.5-inch displays from the start until 2011. In order to cope with increasing competition, the company decided to reveal a slightly larger handset through the iPhone 5. It features a 4-inch display which was carried over to the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c series. This time, Apple wants to explore the phablet sector more with its 5.5-inch version. The attention over the bigger iPhone 6 stems from Apple's unwillingness to yield to phablet competition until now. It will mark the company's entry to the sector introducing a fresh product with familiar features. Analysts believe the device will perform interestingly once released.
