The Apple iPhone 6 release date is an important information for early adopters of iOS devices and for those considering upgrading their current smartphone - iOS or Android. Here are three things to consider for phone shoppers making up their mind on getting a new iPhone.

There are merely rumours, speculations and some "insider information" from unnamed sources at this point. However, it is widely believed that the iPhone 6 release date will be around late-September this year. Further, the new iPhone will reportedly be called iPhone Air.

Want an iPhone 6 on Release Date? Consider Three Things...

1. Screen size. The iPhone 6 will reportedly come in two variants: one featuring a 4.7-inch display, and another with a 5.5-inch screen. The current flagship phone, the iPhone 5S, sports a 4-inch screen.

Some users think that a screen above 4 inches in size does not feel right in their hands. If you are the type who thinks a bigger screen is better, the new iPhone Air (if it would really be called that) might just be worth checking. In this case, hold off phone shopping until later this year.

2. Price of the new iPhone. If Google Translate works, the 16GB Apple iPhone 6 might come with a price tag of AU$900. China.com reported "4.7-inch version of the iPhone 6 is still 5288 yuan," according to the online translation. The site cited "internal personnel news sources."

The same Chinese report mentioned "5.5-inch version" and "16GB version 5998 yuan" in the translation. This is above a thousand Australian dollars. This, of course, is an unofficial iPhone 6 price announcement.

"[The new iPhone's] official name will be known as iPhone Air," the same report noted.

3. Apple iOS 8. The next evolution of the Apple operating system is expected to be released to the public later in the year. iOS 8 has been unveiled and its beta version is now being studied by developers. Reports say iPhone 4S and later models would be able to run the new OS. However, early adopters want the new OS to go with the new smartphone.

If you have been an Android user for a while now, consider the effects of smartphone OS switch before making up your mind. Try navigating a friend's iPhone on iOS 7. If the change excites you, consider it a good sign.

If you are not an early Apple iPhone adopter, then you would not mind letting a couple of weeks or months pass before getting an iPhone 6 or iPhone Air (assuming it would really come out in September). Check out the reviews, see the bug reports, and compare-contrast before jumping in.
