Apple iPhone 7 Release To Feature Bezeless Screen, Sapphire Glass And A9 Processor From Samsung, Midrange iPhone 6S Also Arriving Alongside
In 2015, Apple is speculated to launch two smartphones. As of this writing, the names of both the handsets have not been announced yet but rumours from varied sources are referring them as the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 6S. Fresh speculations are emerging about the expected iPhone 7 release date and features.
According to China Topix, the iPhone 7 will be an all-screen handset. In other words, the handset will come not feature any bezels, but it will sport a larger display. The source goes on to claim that the iPhone 7 will be a 5-inch device m and it will house a 4.7-inch display.
Christian Today states that the iPhone 7 will come equipped with a sapphire screen display which will be manufactured by Foxconn. The Taiwan based company is building a dedicated plant for manufacturing sapphire displays for the iPhone 7. Foxconn has invested $2.6 billion for constructing the exclusive plant.
Currently, the Touch ID sensor on the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus are shielded with the sapphire glass. Most of the smartphones feature the toughened Gorilla Glass for protecting the screen. However, the sapphire glass covering is even stronger than Gorilla Glass.
According to Deccan Chronicle, Samsung has begun with the process of manufacturing A9 chipsets for the iPhone 7. China Topix adds that Samsung will be the major processor supplier for upcoming products like iPhones and iPads. Apple has chosen Samsung over Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) because the South Korean tech giant's 14nm FinFET processor technology will make it possible to use a 15 percent smaller processor that consumes 35 percent less power and delivers 20 percent better performance.
According to a report published on IBTimes on Dec 3, the iPhone 6S will be rolled out as a midrange device whereas the iPhone 7 will carry an expensive price tag. Both the handsets are expected to arrive by fall in the coming year.
China Topix further adds that the total sales generated from all the iDevices will help Apple in generating revenue of about $192 billion by the end of this year. The company is expected to make even more profits in the coming year because it is rumoured to launch a slew of devices like the iPhone 7, iPhone 6S, iPad Plus/iPad Pro, iPad Air 3, iPad Mini 4 and Apple Watch.
