Apple iPhone 7 update: 2017 will see the completely redesigned iPhone
Each passing week seems to bring forth a new rumour for the Apple iPhone 7. Latest speculations indicate that Apple will hold back most of its innovative features for 2017, the 10th anniversary of the original iPhone.
In 2016, Apple is likely to maintain the same chassis design like the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s. This year, the tech giant is expected to announce a 4.7-inch iPhone 7 alongside its 5.5-inch bigger sibling with most probably a “plus” moniker. The larger screened iPhone 7 could also be called the iPhone 7 Pro.
Both the variants of the 2016 iPhone 7 will sport specs like dual-lens camera set-up along with other performance upgrades. But, for the radically redesigned iPhone, users will have to wait till 2017.
The 10th anniversary Apple iPhone may sport design and display innovations like omission of the physical home button as well as the 3.5mm headphone jack, as reported by CNET. Apple has long been rumoured to bring in an ‘edgeless’ display, removing the top and bottom bezels along with home button.
In April, renowned Apple analyst KGI Securities’ Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that in 2017, Apple will drop the aluminium casing in favour of an all-glass chassis with AMOLED screen. The light AMOLED panel is believed to balance the increased weight of the all-glass design.
The OLED panels for 2017 Apple iPhones will be supplied by Samsung. Both companies have reportedly entered into a US$2.59 billion (AU$3.38 billion) agreement for 3 years.

Last week, there were reports that the iPhone 7 lineup will not sport a Smart Connector port, which can be used for both data transfer as well as charging the device. The 2016 iPhone may come with a dedicated audio jack.
If rumours are to be believed, this means that the 2016 iPhone 7 model will not sport most of the innovative features of the purported device.
Then what would entice the customers to switch from the current generation of iPhone 6s or even the much appreciated iPhone 6? Moreover, recently Apple also released an upgraded version of the iPhone 5s, the iPhone SE.
