Apple iPhone 8 Plus vs LG G6: Apple to focus on Siri while LG gears up for Google Assistant
While Apple is believed to release three iPhones in 2017 and one of them is definitely the Apple iPhone 8, there could also be an Apple iPhone 8 Plus, just like the iPhone 7 Plus. Moreover, the LG G6 is also a highly-expected device that will boast some really amazing specs and at a lower price than the Apple flagship. The LG smartphone is slated to be released during the company’s Feb. 26 event. It is expected to sport an all-metal design and dual rear cameras, as per fresh leaked photos.
According to Gadgets 360, the LG G6 leaks also show a 3.5mm headphone jack. This feature will surely be not coming to Apple iPhone 8. A rear-mounted fingerprint scanner has also been reported. All these are in line with earlier leaks. New leaked case renders have also confirmed the same. As per the recent leaks reported by Under KG, the LG G6 will have a brushed metal design with a matte finish. The fingerprint scanner may also serve as the power button. microSD card support is also shown.
Various other leaks have confirmed various versions of the LG G6 flagship. At the bottom, the device may have mono-speakers alongside USB Type-C charging port. The SIM slot will be at the right and the left panel will have the volume buttons. LG will be dropping the G5 modular design in favour of an all-metal design. A new heat pipe cooling tech has also been reported to take away heat from the processor. In order to make the smartphone waterproof, LG may ditch the non-removable battery. Apple iPhone 8 Plus will also boast some pretty impressive specs.
The LG G6 will be the first non-Pixel phone to come with the Google Assistant, a feature currently found only in Google Pixel phones. A Snapdragon 821 processor will be incorporated into the device. The Apple iPhone 8 Plus may sport a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. It could have a sapphire crystal glass with oleophobic coating. It will be IP67 certified and will have Apple Pay. 3D Touch Display, Home button and Display zoom could also be included, reviews GSMArena.
The Apple iPhone 8 Plus will run on iOS 11 and may be powered by an Apple A11 quadcore chipset. It may have a 4GB RAM and come in 32/128/256GB internal storage options. Wireless charging, front-mounted fingerprint scanner and highly upgraded Siri Virtual Assistant are also expected. On the camera front, the LG G6 could have a dual 16MP (29mm, f/1.8) + 16MP (12mm, f/1.8) primary camera with laser autofocus, OIS (3-axis) and LED flash. The secondary camera could be of 12MP.
