Apple iWatch On iPhone 6 Release Date To Cost $400; Reports Point To Multiple Wearable Gadgets With Different Price Range
Apple fan boys and cheer girls would be eagerly waiting for Sept. 9 to get a glimpse of all the devices in offer this year. With iPhone 6 release date garnering more attention, Apple iWatch was not making too much noise. Even though wearable gadgets and gears market is still a nascent arena, iWatch is being touted as the device to look out for. However, we now have information that there will be more than one wearable gadget/iWatch from Apple this year.
The latest report from Recode points to multiple wearable gears. Also, the reported pricing details pertaining to the high-end wearable gadget from Apple could likely be $400. Furthermore, Apple will also release lower-end wearable devices to cater to different segments, according to Phone Arena.
According to earlier reports, Apple will unveil wearable gadgets including the iWatch smartwatch on Sept. 9 along with the iPhone 6. But there are also umpteen reports opining that the iWatch will not be released in 2014, instead it will be postponed to early 2015.
Furthermore, the competition from Android OS/Tizen OS counterparts is rife. The upcoming wearable gadgets/smartwatches are expected to come from Samsung, Motorola, LG, Timex, Pebble and Sony among others. When it comes to fitness bands, the market is ruled by Jawbone and Fitbit. Going by earlier rumours, Apple will release smartwatches pertaining to both men and women. In addition, the wearable gears will also target sports and fashion. If reports are true, Apple may be working with Swatch in order to manufacture the hardware components for its smartwatch, says Recode.
It is worth mentioning that, Apple announced HomeKit and HealthKit APIs at the WWDC 2014 scheduled in June. These APIs can be utilised by the wearable gadgets to control other devices in the house. This includes electronic door locks and also to monitor health and fitness related information like heart rate, blood pressure levels and calories intake.
In comparison to Apple's alleged $400 wearable gadget, Samsung's Gear 2 smartwatch comes relatively cheaper for $300. In addition, Google-powered gadgets go further easy on the wallet and cost around $200. However, the company Timex's gadget Ironman One GPS+ smartwatch is priced at $400. The unique selling point of the aforementioned device is its support to 3G wireless connection.
However, the company has not confirmed any of the above information thus far. We may get more information on the wearable devices on Sept. 9 special event scheduled by Apple.
