Apple MacBook Pro 2016 update: Dynamic E-Ink keyboard not expected soon; Apple to bring future on input technology in future
The Apple MacBook Pro is set to get an auto-refreshing keyboard though fans should not expect the keyboard anytime soon. The dynamic E-Ink keyboard refreshes the keys based on what is running on the screen.
A report by The Wall Street Journal confirmed the news that the dynamic E-Ink keyboard will be added to the MacBook pro in future. Experts believe that the keyboard will hit shelves in 2018. If reports are to be believed, Apple has teamed up with Australian start-up firm Sonder. The latter is set to release its E-Ink keyboards later this year.
As per Express.co.uk, these dynamic keyboards can display the standard QWERTY layout and also different alphabet and language layouts “as well as context-sensitive buttons for apps like Photoshop.”
Recently, a Reddit post appeared showing a prototype of the Apple e-ink keyboard being developed by Sonder. The post has been taken down. Apple has a reputation of taking big leaps that are first criticised but later become the new standard. A similar thing happened with the 3.5mm headphone jack that was dropped from the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus devices.
The Redditor claimed that Apple will introduce the future of input technology via the E-Ink dynamic keyboard.
Apple is all set for the Oct. 27 event. The media invites have been sent and it is wide-anticipated that the Cupertino-based tech giant will also unveil refreshed MacBooks and new iPad models.
The Apple MacBook Pro has not received any major overhaul since 2012. The MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to run on Apple's new macOS Sierra. It will bring with it Apple's Siri voice-activated assistant and loads of other exciting features. A Skylake processor and AMD Polaris graphics chipset will be used to gear up the device for heavy-duty performance.
Other top features expected in the Apple MacBook Pro 2016 are TouchID, USB-C Support and OLED strip with customizable keys.
