Among all the devices around, Apple has been most secretive about the MacBook Pro. There have been countless of leaks and rumors around all suggesting what the next Mac laptop can offer.

The MacBook Air already got its upgrade when Apple introduced Intel's Haswell chips to the line. People are looking forward to a new version of the MacBook Pro and MacBook Pro Retina this October. According to reports, Apple is hosting an event on the 15th of October.

One of the most recent update about the MacBook Pro is that it will feature Sharp's 4k Display. This will boost the resolution of the screen considerably. Apple's MacBook Pro will offer higher-resolution better than most competitors.

If Apple will include Sharp's 4k display, screen resolution will be at 2880 x 1880. Some sources note that Sharp 4k2k IGZO can offer up to 3840 x 2160 resolution display for notebooks. The ppi is at 282. People can enjoy watching videos and playing games more if this pushes through.

What is great about the IGZO technology is that it is energy efficient. This means longer battery life. If the MacBook Pro series will get the Haswell chips then it will be one of the best laptops in terms of battery life. Haswell chips improve battery life by as much as 80%. Imagine a MacBook than can last for more than 15 hours on a single charge.

It will redefine the idea of portability and computing power. At the moment, Sharp reportedly began betasamplers regarding the 15.6-inch Sharp IGZO 4k display. Nonetheless, there are also reports saying that if Sharp is not ready to supply the production quantity Apple needs until 2014.

If the two companies will follow the yield results and the timeline, MacBook Pros may have to wait until 2014 before they can receive the IGZO technology. Sharp also wanted to extend the technology to smartphones and tablets. The company has been working on a pen based input to make it more compatible with these devices.
