Apple may unveil MacBook Pro 2016 in June
2016 is looking to be an eventful one for Apple. The Cupertino-based tech giant is slated to unveil a bagful of new devices this year, including its much anticipated 4-inch iPhone, Apple Watch 2, the next iteration of its current iPhone 6s line-up and a new upgraded MacBook Pro.
As reported by Korea Portal, Apple will likely throw some light on the next generation MacBook Pro 2016 at an event on June 13. The refreshed line-up will replace the 5th-generation Broadwell chips and house Intel’s 6th-generation Skylake processors. This Skylake powered machine will be faster than its predecessor.
It is worth noting that the Skylake processors will bring considerable performance improvements by boosting CPU speeds up to 20 percent. The new 14-nanomemter architecture of the chipset will make the device more power-efficient.
The new generation of MacBook Pro will come with Retina Display and may come in two screen sizes. Sporting 13-inch and 15-inch display screens, the new iterations may house 8GB and 16GB of RAM respectively.
Earlier this month, MacWorld reported that the Retina Display will improve battery life by up to 10 hours for the 13-inch MacBook and eight hours for the 15-inch model. The new MacBook 2016 models are also expected to come with at least two USB C ports. However, it is not clear if the Type-C ports will replace the existing Thunderbolt or USB 3.0 ports of the current models.
Apple is also slated to unveil the iOS 10 as well as OS X 10.12 at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWC) in June 2016. In a release note to investors, as obtained by Apple Insider, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities revealed that the MacBook lineup would bring in remarkable growth for Apple in 2016. He also mentioned that the forthcoming upgrades in June will further speed up the sales of Apple's notebook lineup.
