British carrier Vodafone has reportedly listed the iPhone 6 as among the gadgets to comprise its upcoming release dates, a new report said.

In a leaked photo of what appears as Vodafone's internal document, the iPhone 6 was prominently included in a lineup of devices that company would likely offer. But the image, first reported by tech blog site Stuff, also displayed greyed out portions that made it impossible to fully understand the document's content.

It is possible, according to Gotta Be Mobile, that the listing is part of internal communications between Vodafone departments and the 'iPhone 6' that was referred to was the iPhone 5.

The iPhone 5 represents the sixth generation of the iOS smartphone.

Analysts are more convinced that were are getting the iPhone 5S this year, their projections mainly based on Apple's practice of releasing an S version following a major push, which in the case of the iPhone 5 happened last year.

While the iPhone 6 was originally rumoured for a June 2013 release date, latest estimates moved that target on June 2014, citing production issues and the likelihood of a major design revamp for the Apple flagship.

It is widely seen, according to Apple watchers, that the iPhone 6 will reflect a new smartphone look plus key revisions both in the hardware and software departments.

The upcoming handset will likely showcase a wrap-around screen display with invisible control keys. Powering the phablet-size mobile phone, with an alleged 4.8-inch screen size, is the reengineered iOS 7 that experts hope will be leaner in form but richer in feature offering.

The new device will also benefit from new technologies like robust security features and mobile payment courtesy of fingerprint sensor and near-field communication (NFC) chips respectively.
