Apple and Samsung's rivalry continue as the Cupertino-based company reportedly rejected displays from its South Korean competitor. According to recent information from the Taiwanese supply chain, Apple has decided to go for Japan Display and LG as its primary suppliers. Innolux has also been added to the list of suppliers for the 4.7-inch screen of the iPhone 6. Sharp has been rejected leaving Apple with a total of three suppliers to meet the iPhone 6 production demand.

According to a report by Taiwanese website UDN (via 9to5mac), Apple has turned down both Sharp and Samsung in favor of Innolux - a local company. LG and Japan Display will be the primary suppliers while Innolux will serve as a help or support for the remaining production needs.

Apple's rejection of Samsung displays may also have something to do with the current dispute between the two companies according to BGR. Sharp has also been taken out as a potential supplier for the iPad Mini. Apple will reportedly release the iPhone 6 around August or September. 9to5Mac also reported that Apple may go for a humbler display resolution at 1704 x 960 resolution to facilitate better transition to the bigger screened device. The company has not yet released an official announcement for the iPhone 6 features so specs can still change in the future.

Whereas the market remains confused about the exact release date of the iPhone 6, a German carrier reportedly hinted about the release to be around September 19 according to Apple Insider. Deutsche Telekom has reportedly instructed its call center pool to tell customers to stick with the company for Apple's much anticipated mid-September launch.

Deutsche Telekom support representatives have been instructed to relay Apple's iPhone 6 release to be on September 19. Although it seems highly unlikely that Apple has divulged the release date already to partner carriers, the timeline still falls within Apple's previous launches.
