Apple rolls outs fresh emojis, wallpapers with iOS 9.1 for iPad and iPhone
As might be expected, the middle finger is the most popular of the lot
Apple announces the official release of iOS 9.1 for iPad and iPhone along with a huge collection of 185 new emojis, including a robot face, “Sign of the Horns”, a taco, a nerd face, a middle finger and more, reports Time.com.
As might be expected, the middle finger is the most popular of the lot. It goes by the notorious name, “Reversed Hand With Middle Finger Extended”.
Apart from introducing new emojis, Apple also included developer support to leverage Live Photos plus three planetary wallpapers. Live Photos quickly senses the slightest movements by users when taking photos with their iPhones so that small errors can be automatically prevented from ruining the shot, reports 9to5mac.
Apple declares that its latest iPad and iPhone update is likely to bring a lot of improvements and bug fixes to the iOS 9.1 platform. The 185 emojis will have full support for 8.0 emojis and Unicode 7.0. Added to this will be improved stability in Photos, Search, Safari, Music, and CarPlay. Users will experience boosted performance while multitasking.
Issues with the Calendar have been sorted out on iOS 9.1. There were complaints the Game Centre was sometimes prevented from launching, but this seems to have been resolved with the new release. The upgrade effectively explains the difficulties users encounter in removing recent contacts from the new messages.
Mails may fail to appear in the Mail search results but this has been fixed. A gray bar appearing in the body of your Audio message has been criticized as visually-disturbing, but the problem is mitigated with iOS 9.1.
Users can now get the latest updates on apps from the App Store and any type of activation problems have been solved. Click on ‘Software’ Update’ in the Settings app to download the iPhone update. Do back-up your device first, however.
