Apple Inc.'s iTunes Connect is taking a short holiday break between December 22-29 so developers who are planning on changing their app prices should wait until after the break or risk getting their apps unavailable for purchase.

Apple sent an email to last month to developers advising them about the holiday shutdown.

"Tunes Connect will be temporarily shut down from Thursday, December 22 to Thursday, December 29 for the winter holidays," Apple wrote in the e-mail. During the shutdown access to iTunes connect will be unavailable as well as the delivery of any apps or updates.

iTunes Connect is a platform for developers to submit and update their iOS applications for the Apple App Store. Apple has to approve of any app before it can be released in the App Store. While the Apple headquarters are closed no app can be approved for release. Developers should submit any app for approval before December 22.

Apple also told developers not to schedule pricing changes through the short break.

"We strongly recommend that you do not schedule pricing changes through the interval pricing system in iTunes Connect that would take effect from December 22 through December 29. Pricing changes scheduled to take effect during this date range will not be reflected in the App Store and the app will become unavailable for purchase."

Scrooge-like developers who still insist on uploading their apps during the break will have to wait until December 29 for their apps to go live.
