Apple has recently relaunched the new software upgrade 6.0 for the Apple TV, which allows for a faster set-up process using an iPhone or iPad. This had previously been halted after some reported bugs.

The user's iOS devices can now be used to automatically transfer network settings, Apple id and other information like language preference, allowing a faster set-up for the Apple TV.

The unique "tap-to-setup" feature works when the Apple TV is touched by the iOS device as the information gets transferred via Bluetooth. The Bluetooth LE has been built into the iPhone devices. However iPhone 4 may not support this feature, but later versions do.

The new process has made it quite easy compared to the early version. Previously, users had to connect a Bluetooth keyboard or use the Apple TV remotely to enter the required information. This process was very time-consuming.

Some users said the two devices need not to actually touch each to work. They noted Apple could have highlighted the need for them touch to ensure that there is enough proximity between the devices.

According to the analysts, Apple is using a system known as "ranging," where BLE technology ensures the proximity of the Apple TV and the iOS device.

Outpouring of compliments were felt with the upgrade, as fans saw this as a sigh of relief. The update required the users to input information by just tapping the Apple TV with the iOS device.

Fans are also happy as there haven't been any bugs reported after the relaunch of the update.

The earlier update had been halted after receiving complaints from the users. The update reportedly bricked some of the devices, rendering them unusable. There were also issues related to Wi-Fi connection that necessitated the users to restore their devices to the previous version.

With the update working smoothly, users can now enjoy the new features that allow the users to directly buy content like music and videos from iTunes via the Apple TV. Users can now directly stream the content instead of waiting for a full download. Click here to read more about the new features of the Apple TV.
