Apple users want the iPhone 7 to feature wireless charging, replaceable battery
Apple's iPhone 6S may have only been launched a couple of months ago, but consumers have already come up with a list of specs that they want to see on the iPhone 7. If the Cupertino tech giant would listen to their wishes, it is likely that the upcoming flagship device will feature wireless charging and more.
Conventionally, handsets are charged with the use of a charging cable. That said, only a handful of the units that are in the tech market today are capable of wireless charging, such as Samsung's Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5.
Considering that Samsung and Apple have always gone head to head in the market, it is expected that the latter tech manufacturer will not stay behind, which triggered rumours that the iPhone 7 will feature a wireless charging capability, as Tech Times has pointed out.
iPhones have also never been installed with replaceable batteries. Since Apple came out with its very first iPhone, users have been itching for units that have replaceable batteries. Sadly, though, no such handset ever made it to the market.
Replaceable batteries will increase the replacement cycle of today's iPhone models. Plus, it will also allow consumers to carry a spare battery with them. Although this particular feature is very high in demand, it is reportedly unlikely that Apple's iPhone 7 will have a replaceable battery.
In addition, iPhones are traditionally available in 16 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB variants. The base model's storage space is too little, while the higher versions tend to spike the price of the unit. That said, Apple might appeal to more potential buyers by making a 32 GB version for the iPhone 7.
It is also requested for the iPhone 7 to be launched with a waterproof feature. A previous Tech Times report stated that the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus are actually waterproof. However, Apple has neither confirmed nor denied these reports.
