Apple Watch 2 and iPhone 6C release date set for March 2016
Apple is expected to hold a major event in March 2016 that might see it launch the much anticipated Apple Watch 2 and the small 4-inch Apple iPhone 6C.
The first generation Apple Watch was announced in April 2014. Rumors have it the March 2016 event will be used to introduce the Apple Watch 2, 9 to 5 Mac reported citing unnamed sources.
The Apple Watch 2 is likely to sport the same form factor as the original model. Reports suggest it will pack a larger battery and will deliver better outdoor visibility.
Apple is also expected to announce a small-sized iPhone with a 4-inch display during the March 2016 launch event. The grapevine is referring to the device as the iPhone 6C. This small iPhone will replace the iPhone 5S and will be powered by the Apple A9 chipset.
It will be a low-end handset with features like 1 GB of RAM; Wi-Fi 802.11ac; v4.1 Bluetooth and an 8 megapixel rear camera. It’s also going to feature a Touch ID fingerprint sensor for Apple Pay, which is also available on the older iPhone 5S.
Apple Insider has reported the iPhone 6C will carry a price tag of $449 (AU$622). The 4-inch iPhone will be also available in multiple colour options.
