Apple Watch 2 trial production to begin this month, March announcement imminent
The Apple Watch 2 rumours suggest that the second generation smartwatch from Apple will be unleashed through an unveiling event in March this year. Fresh speculations makes it seem like the trial production of the Apple Watch 2 is likely to begin at the end of this month.
In November 2015, Quanta Computer’s chairman had announced that the Apple Watch 2 would arrive by the second quarter of this year, suggesting that the said company will be the main manufacturer of the Apple Watch. Later on, manufacturers such as Foxconn, Wistron and Inventec are also expected to make Apple Watch 2, Apple Insider reported.
Since speculations are claiming that the production of trial models will begin this month, only a small number of units will be manufactured. Once the trial units are tested and found to be perfect, mass production of the second generation Apple Watch will begin in full swing so that it can be unveiled in March, Phone Arena reported.
Apple Watch 2 rumours suggest that the second generation model will be a stand-alone device that will rely less on the paired iPhone. The Apple Watch 2 may carry support for making and receiving phone calls.
The Apple Watch 2 may also arrive with a FaceTime camera, making it possible for its users to make video calls. It is expected to sport a thinner form factor by as it might feature a thinner OLED screen. The thinner design of the Apple Watch 2 may allow the manufacturers to add a larger battery on the device. This will make the second generation model deliver better battery life.
The speculated March event through which the Apple Watch 2 will be announced will also stand as a platform to unveil other rumoured products such as iPhone 5c and iPad Air 3. After the second generation Apple Watch is announced in March, it is pegged to be available for purchase in April.
